HRRC celebrates Seniors Day on April 9

Home Repair Resource Center (HRRC) has planned an event specifically for senior homeowners, to assist them in managing home repairs and making better use of their homes.

“Celebrate Seniors Day” will be held on Wednesday, April 9, at the HRRC Teaching Center, 2520 Noble Road (two blocks north of Monticello Boulevard) in Cleveland Heights.

Seniors are invited to drop in any time between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. for refreshments and information on how HRRC can help them complete repair and renovation projects.

Two free workshops have been scheduled, both presented by Wesley Walker, HRRC’s senior repair specialist.

"Contracting Home Repairs” at 11:30 a.m. will prepare seniors to get estimates from contractors, choose the one that gives the most benefit for the cost, manage the repair process, and make sure the work has been done correctly before releasing payments.

"Aging in Place" at 1:30 p.m. will help seniors determine what modifications might allow them to remain in their present home despite the physical and mental changes that can come with aging.

Home Repair Resource Center, a Cleveland Heights nonprofit, has been serving the community for more than 40 years. For more information about Celebrate Seniors Day and other services for seniors, visit HRRC’s website, www.hrrc-ch.org, or call 216-381-6100, ext. 22.
