Mindi Thal, of the Visiting Nurse Association, will discuss home safety awareness and provide an overview of where to shop and how to find the available tools, equipment and home modifications to enhance home safety and ease. Thal will also provide information about the housing options that are available if home care is no longer possible.

Gifts of the Islands: The Caribbean and the Harlem Renaissance. Jeff Karem, professor and chair of the Department of English at Cleveland State University, will talk about Caribbean contributions to the literary and cultural accomplishments of the Harlem Renaissance, which helped make the movement a truly international achievement.
