The Ohio School Board Association (OSBA) honored two Cleveland Heights-University Heights Board of Education members during the April 7 board meeting.

Ron Register, board of education vice president, was presented with the OSBA Award of Achievement.

The Award of Achievement is given to school board members to recognize their commitment to training and leadership activities for their fellow board members, along with regional and state OSBA activities. Out of more than 3,400 board members in Ohio, only 58 were selected to receive this honor in 2015.

“We are so proud of Mr. Register’s outstanding leadership and service to the district. He is an asset to the board, and this award is well-deserved,” said Talisa L. Dixon, CH-UH superintendent.

Board member Kal Zucker was also recognized by OSBA for having served 10 years on the board.

"I've had the privilege of working with Mr. Zucker over the course of his 10 years here, and the district is very fortunate to have someone so engaged, supportive, and focused on students,” said Scott Gainer, chief financial officer and treasurer for the district.

Now in its 60th year, OSBA serves Ohio public school board members and school districts.
