Free parking in Cleveland Heights? No, you’re not hallucinating. The city is offering free parking at parking meters around the city on three weekends this summer.

"We have offered free parking in the past for specific events and when we had really bad winters,” said Susanna Niermann O’Neil, acting city manager for the City of Cleveland Heights. “This year we thought it would be something neat to do, and we picked this summer because different merchants asked about it as a possibility. We looked at it, thought about it, and council said this is a good thing to do to bring people to the commercial districts."

The city is celebrating Summer in the City with free parking at parking meters on city streets, in city parking lots and in city parking garages on the following weekends:

  • Friday, June 29; Saturday, June 30; and Sunday, July 1
  • Friday, July 27; Saturday, July 28; and Sunday, July 29
  • Friday, August 24; Saturday, August 25; and Sunday, August 26
