Tonight's BOE meeting to be held at Delisle Center

Tonight’s CH-UH Board of Education meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Delisle Educational Options Center, 14780 Superior Road, in Cleveland Heights. Follow up on the facilities master plan is item number nine in the superintendent’s report on the agenda for tonight's meeting.

“This may be the last opportunity for residents to address the board publicly before July 3—that’s when the board will need to have decided whether or not to place a bond issue on the November ballot,” said Deanna Bremer Fisher, director of FutureHeights, a nonprofit citizen-engagement group that has been following the district’s master facilities planning process.

Residents who wish to address the board must sign in prior to the start of the meeting.

According to Superintendent Doug Heuer, in order to place a levy on the November 2012 ballot, the board needs to pass two resolutions by July 9 and a third resolution by July 31. The board has scheduled a special meeting for Tuesday, June 19, at 7 p.m., at the CH-UH Board of Education building, 2155 Miramar Blvd., University Heights. According to an official notice from the district, the June 19 meeting will serve as a work session to discuss facilities planning, as well as to conduct any other business that may be lawfully considered at that time.

Preceding tonight’s regular meeting, the BOE will hold a retirement reception at 6:30 p.m.
