Tiger Nation will roar to life Saturday
Historic football game and sold-out performance of The Sound of Music
expected to draw crowd of more than 5,000 to high school
The first ever undefeated Heights Tigers face perennial football power Lakewood St. Edward at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, at home, in the first-round matchup of the state football playoffs. Kick-off for the game is at 7 p.m., but gates will open at 5 p.m. The first 1,000 fans through the gate will receive a black and gold tiger nation rally towel.
That same evening, the Cleveland Heights-University Heights district musical, “The Sound of Music,” will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Heights High auditorium. School officials expect a sold-out show, meaning an additional 1,400 people at the high school. A ticketed dinner will precede the production, and the auditorium will open for seating at 6:45 p.m.
Attendees for both events are strongly urged to arrive early.
Drop offs for both the game and musical will be in front of the high school on Cedar Road.
Musical patrons should use the north and east parking lots at the high school and park at the Delisle Center. Football fans should use the three free remote lots listed below, or park in the metered Cedar Lee area.
In order to accommodate the anticipated number of cars, remote parking and shuttle service will be provided.
Buses will begin shuttling people to the game and musical at 6 p.m. and will run every 15 minutes up until 7 p.m. Buses will begin shuttling fans back to the parking lots immediately following each event.
Remote parking and shuttle service will be available at the following locations:
For the musical: The Delisle Options Center, 14780 Superior Rd
For the Heights-St. Ed’s Game:
- Cleveland Heights Community Center, 1 Monticello Blvd (Corner of Monticello and Mayfield)

Presale football tickets are available Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. in the Heights High athletic office for $7. Tickets at the gate are $9. Children 5 and under are free.
