Friends of the Library sponsor library education scholarship
Friends of the Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Library is continuing its tradition of offering library education scholarships. Applications are being accepted for the 2012 spring semester. The scholarships provide funds to be used for tuition or books in any ALA-accredited graduate program in library science.
Eligible applicants include any person living in Cleveland Heights or University Heights for at least one year prior to application, or any employee of Heights Libraries who has been employed for at least one year prior to application.
Applications will be accepted between Nov. 1 and Dec. 1. Recipients will be selected and by Dec. 15, with funding available in January 2012. Completed submissions packets are reviewed by a scholarship committee consisting of representatives from Kent State University, Heights Libraries, and the Friends.
Submissions must include a scholarship application, a complete and official college transcript, and three letters of recommendation.
Applications and additional information, including eligibility requirements, can be downloaded from the library’s website, www.heightslibrary.org, or the Friends' website, http://friendsofheightslibrary.onefireplace.com.
