CH resident honored for integration efforts
Patricia Pavlovitch was presented with the 2010 Legacy Award by The-ClevelandHOST, Heights Old School Tigers, an alumni group that represents Heights High's first black students. The award ceremony took place on June 24 at The Alcazar, and was a complete surprise to Pavlovitch.
She received the award for her leadership in helping to the process of integrating the Cleveland Heights community in the 1960s. The-ClevelandHOST president, Randolph Tyrone Givens, who served as master of ceremonies for the event, sang a beautiful song to honor Pavlovitch's efforts.
The Keynote Speaker was Michelle Kemba Posey, a professional event planner, consultant and teacher. Also in attendance were Pavlovitch’s close friends, family members and residents of The Alcazar.
Anna Schade is a senior at John Carroll University and an intern with the Heights Observer.
