Otis Moss to Preach at Fairmount Church

MARCH 15, 2008 - Cleveland Heights, OH - The Reverend Dr. Otis Moss, Jr., will preach at the Sunday, March 30,th 11 am service at Fairmount Presbyterian Church in Cleveland Heights. Rev. Moss, who has been heavily involved in civil rights, served as co-pastor with the late Dr. Martin Luther King at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta. He recently celebrated 32 years as pastor of Cleveland's Olivet Institutional Baptist Church.

Rev. Moss holds several degrees, including a Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, which he received in 1990. He served as a religious advisor to former President Jimmy Carter, and provided advice to a number of presidential candidates during his pastoral career.

"Rev. Moss delivers a very inspirational message reflecting much study of Scripture and unique life experience," explains Fairmount senior pastor Louise Westfall. "We look forward to Rev. Moss being with us and sharing his thoughts and observations."

Rev. Moss, who appears on the Oprah Winfrey Show, currently serves as co-chairman of presidential candidate Barack Obama's advisory committee of black religious leaders.

Senator Obama attends Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago where Rev. Moss's son, Rev. Otis Moss III, is pastor.
