As the new executive director of FutureHeights, I am very excited to be leading this organization as we embark upon the exciting project of creating a hyperlocal news resource for our community.

There are many very talented and dedicated people who call the Heights their home – people who have unique perspectives and interesting stories to tell; people who care deeply about this community and want to make their best effort to develop successful solutions to the challenges we face as an inner ring suburb of a struggling city; people who have the courage to tell it like it is; and people who have the confidence to celebrate our many successes. The Heights Observer will give us the means to tell our own story the way that we know it should be told.

I am very much looking forward to working with all of you as we learn how to become citizen journalists. Together we will create a community asset that will deepen our relationships, strengthen our local economy, and ensure that the Heights remains a highly desirable places to live.
