Home Remodeling Fair Scheduled for April 12th
- Home Repair Resource Center, March 28, 2008 Close

The annual Community Home Remodeling Fair, sponsored by Home Repair Resource Center and the City of Cleveland Heights, will be held on Saturday, April 12th, at Cleveland Heights City Hall. Doors will open at 9:15, with presentations from 9:30 to 1:45. This FREE event is open to all Cleveland Heights residents.

The Fair will provide an opportunity for residents to hear from contractors, product suppliers, architects, representatives from the City, and other experts willing to share their knowledge. Again this year, the focus will be on “big” projects, where it is particularly important to get good quality workmanship.

Attendees will have many opportunities to get helpful information:

• Workshops on kitchen and bathroom remodeling, basement water control, green remodeling, window restoration, masonry construction and repair, insulation, vinyl siding, and choosing a new heating system.

• “advice tables” on repair techniques, building codes, historically appropriate paint colors and preservation, lead-safe remodeling, financing options, deeds, living wills, property taxes, and plant choices/landscaping.

• One-on-one counseling on budgets, credit, mortgage problems, and other financial matters

* Free 25-minute consultation with an architect to help prepare for a remodeling project. (Residents can register for “Ask an Architect” by calling 381-6100 beginning March 17th.)

* Handouts, books, videos, and contractor evaluations from HRRC’s Resource library

The complete Fair schedule can be found on HRRC’s website www.hrrc-ch.org.
