Dobama Theatre

Dobama is a professional theater dedicated to innovative programming, professional performance standards, and the nurturing and development of new audiences, playwrights, and other theater artists. Our mainstage productions - all World, American, Midwest, or Cleveland Premieres - showcase important plays written by the established and emerging playwrights of our day. Dobama's Night Kitchen offers late-night programming specifically oriented to involve young adults, fifteen to "30 somethings" as both audience members and participants. The annual Marilyn Bianchi Kids' Playwriting Festival, now in its 30th year, was the first event of its kind in the country. The nurturing of new playwrights and their work permeates all Dobama programming, and is the catalyst for all that we do. Through our production of "significant" contemporary plays and related educational events, Dobama seeks to create a community dialogue on contemporary issues.
