CH Historic Preservation Design Guidelines Project - Landmark Commission/ABR Stakeholder Meeting #2
5:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Cleveland Heights has a tremendous quilt of historic buildings weaved into the community. Both the Landmark Commission and Architectural Board of Review (ABR) have desired to have a set of clear design guidelines to utilize as they review applications to properties within the City. In 2019, the City was designated as a Certified Local Government (CLG). This allowed the City, in 2020, to receive a grant from the State of Ohio to prepare historic preservation guidelines. Naylor Wellman was selected as the consultant to lead the project. Stakeholder public kick-off meetings were held with staff, the Landmark Commission, and ABR on April 8, 2021 and June 8, 2021; a public meeting was held on July 13. This meeting will solicit further input from the ABR and Landmark Commission; the public is welcome to listen in.

Face the College Essay
6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
The college essay helps students stand out as they tell their unique story in response to the Common App and other prompts. Yet sitting down and writing the paragraphs that are meant to represent you so well can be a challenging task for many. Fear no more! Lake Erie Ink is here to help.

Write an essay featuring YOU in this two workshop series. On the first day, students learn strategies for brainstorming essay topics, review the Common App, and start their first essay. At the second session, students receive feedback and coaching to finish, revise and polish their essay.
