3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Sunday, April 22 is the season finale of Close Encounters, with the performance of "Strangers on Earth, At Home with Bach" at a Parklands villa in Shaker Heights. Dane Johansen, the newest member of The Cleveland Orchestra’s cello section, is also the producer of a full-length documentary, “Strangers on Earth" (CIFF 2017), which charted his musical pilgrimage on the ancient Camino de Santiago trail, cello strapped to his back.

Dane presents the first all-Bach Close Encounters concert, featuring the dark fifth suite for solo cello, as well as selections from a late work, "The Art of Fugue." Dane is joined by Cleveland Orchestra colleagues Jessica Lee, assistant concertmaster, and Omni Quartet violist Joanna Patterson. Advance tickets only via www.heightsarts.org.

LifeAct's 14th Annual Into the Light Walk
6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Join LifeAct at the Cleveland Zoo as we walk to support teens and prevent suicide one step at a time. LifeAct empowers students and families - and also reduces the stigma of mental illness - by providing lifesaving education about depression awareness and suicide prevention. Suicide is the leading cause of death for adolescents, teens and young adults (after accidents) and tragically the numbers continue to increase. We are thrilled to announce John Trautwein, founder of The Will to Live Foundation, as this year's Keynote Speaker. His motivational message of hope ad healing after the tragic loss of his son to suicide will surely touch and transform each and every person at this inspirational event.

Dobama Theatre presents the regional premiere of APPROPRIATE by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, directed by Nathan Motta

Winner of the 2014-15 Obie Award for Best Play

When the patriarch of the Lafayette clan dies, the family is forced to descend upon the crumbling Arkansas homestead to settle accounts. As the three adult children rummage through a mountain of hoarded relics, they spar over a lifetime of junk, past relationship issues, and inherited debts. But when they make a disturbing discovery among their father's possessions, the reunion takes a turn for the volatile, forcing every member to confront their family history and each other. APPROPRIATE is a thought-provoking whirlwind of explosive surprises and crackling confrontations.

APPROPRIATE features Tracee Patterson*, Ursula Cataan*, Tom Woodward*, Abraham McNeil Adams+, Kelly McCready*, Jacob Eeg, and Ireland Derry.
