Felix Kumah-Abiwu, Ph.D., assistant professor, Pan-African Studies, Kent State University, born in the Volta region of Ghana, West Africa, raised in capital city of Accra, because of motivation by supervisor in the Ministry of Foreign of Affairs, earned a Master’s degree and doctorate in International Affairs, now one of 2900 students from 109 countries on the Kent State campus.

Ekphrastacy: Artists Talk + Poets Respond
7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Join Heights Arts on Thursday, March 30 at 7 p.m. for a multi-faceted gallery talk on Public Conscience through Graphics and Illustration. Exhibition artists are invited to speak about the influences and challenges in creating art that deals with social and cultural issues. Cleveland poets Jeffrey Bowen, Clarissa Jakobsons, Chuck Joy, and Emily Troia will also read new poems which have been created in response to select works on view. An open reception follows. Free
