Book Discussion: The Schools Our Children Deserve by Alfie Kohn, Part 2
7:00 PM
Part 2 of the two part series sponsored by the Heights Coalition for Public Education and Reaching Heights.

According to the author, the school reform agenda built around tougher standards “is squeezing the intellectual life out of classrooms.” Readers will explore Kohn’s vision for the ideal classroom and how it can be realized.

The first meeting focused on chapters 4-6 and the second meeting will cover part two. Books are available at a 20% reduction at Mac’s Backs and Appletree Books. Child care is available.

The Heights Coalition for Public Education is a group of Cleveland Heights-University Heights parents, community members and educators who are committed to all children receiving a high quality public education. It is opposed to the misguided use of state funds to test and grade schools, and privatize education. The Coalition started three years ago after a community book discussion of Diane Ravich’s book, Reign of Errors.
