Accelerate 2016: Citizens Make Change
4:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Accelerate is an opportunity for every individual in Cleveland to share and act on a personal vision to change our region.
Individual community members – not businesses or organizations – are invited to submit compelling, innovative and even wild pitch ideas for one-and-done projects or sustainable, ongoing efforts that make NE Ohio a better place.
Pitches are made in one of five broad categories:
1. Quality of Life
2. Economic Development
3. Educating for Tomorrow
4. Community Change
5. Transformative Arts and Culture
At the event, five pitches in each category are presented before small audiences and panels of judges drawn from community leaders. Judges select one finalist in each category. The finalists make their pitches before a combined audience, which vote on the overall winner. Winners receive seed funding to help bring their vision to reality, but all pitched ideas may find a champion among the crowd to help them take flight.
Accelerate 2016 is presented in partnership with Citizens Bank.

CH-UH City School District will hold a community architectural visioning meeting to gather input regarding the Monticello and Roxboro middle schools renovation project. The meeting is open to the public, will begin at 6 p.m. at the Heights High cafeteria.

Active Yoga ~'~ Loving Hands Yoga

Active Yoga – This is a moderate-intensity class, perfect for those with previous yoga experience. In this class we gradually increase our heart rate, flow aerobically through various poses, and work on developing strength, flexibility, balance, and stamina. We focus on the yoga principles of alignment, connecting our breath with our movement, and practicing present-moment awareness. The level of challenge is designed around the students’ desires and abilities.

*** New clients: Your first class is free!
*** Existing clients: Refer a friend and receive one free class!
Class Fees (One class per week)
New Clients (includes one free class): $135 for Fall, $150 for Spring, $165 for Summer and Winter
Returning Clients: $150 for Fall, $165 for Spring, $180 for Summer and Winter

Gentle Yoga – This class provides all the benefits of yoga, but at a more relaxed pace. It is perfect for beginners, or experienced yogis who prefer a slower practice. We work on our strength, breathing, balance, and flexibility through gentle, fluid poses and stretching. Meditation exercises at the beginning and end of the class help to release stress and worry. We also discuss methods for bringing peace and relaxation into our daily lives. This class provides a peaceful and relaxing way to end the evening!
