Cleveland Heights Memorial Day Ceremony
10:30 AM
The annual Memorial Day at the Veteran's Memorial in Cleveland Heights' Cumberland Park at Mayfield and Monticello Boulevard.

All residents, and any veterans in the area, are invited to attend. Each year veterans in the audience are invited to the podium to speak and to share when and where they served. Scout troops participate in the ceremony and the Cleveland Heights Police Honor Guard is in attendance.

An essay contest is held each year with 8th grade students from Monticello Middle School invited to submit essays. The topic this year is "As an American, what does Memorial Day mean to you?" Five winners are chosen to read their essays and given a Proclamation.

The All Generation Band, that began in Cleveland Heights, is comprised of many generations of musicians and provides the patriotic music.

The entire ceremony will be rebroadcast on the Cleveland Heights Government Television Channel, Time Warner Channel 20, and will also be available on the City's You Tube Channel.
