Beats and Sounds of Hip Hop
7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Love beats, rhythms, the flow of a rap? Learn how these play a role in the making of Hip Hop music. Children, ages 8-12, will get the chance to practice their emcee skills, create beats, and share in the Hip Hop Experience. Part of our African American History and Culture programs. Registration begins February 10.

Reaching Musical Heights concert

More than 450 student musicians from all of the CH-UH public schools will perform onstage at Severance Hall. Geoffrey Golden, a Heights High graduate and the recent seventh-season winner of "Sunday Best," a televised gospel soloist competition, will speak and perform.

Reaching Musical Heights, a quadrennial project of Reaching Heights, is also a gala benefit for the organization. The event brings student vocalists and instrumentalists from the CH-UH elementary, middle schools and the high school to the Severance Hall stage.
