Welcome Home Heights Musicians

Why is the Heights such a great place for music? Come find out why musicians think the Heights is such a great place to call home.

Panelists include Scott Haigh, Cleveland Orchestra bassist; Charlie Mosbrook, folk singer; Brendan O'Malley, mandolin player for Honeybucket, Cleveland's newgrass band; Beth Woodside, Cleveland Orchestra violinist; and Willie J. Wright of the Wright Family Singers. Long Road guitarist and vocalist and life-long Heights resident David Budin will moderate the panel.

Complimentary nibbles and cash bar. Door prizes for new Heights residents.

Community leaders will be on hand to provide information on area schools, businesses and civic organizations.

CH-UH City School District Board of Education Work Session

At the Board Work Session, the Strategic Planning Committee will present proposed aspirations as part of the district’s Five Year Strategic Plan. Also, the Gilbane and Ozanne construction team will present the CHHS Reconstruction Project Design Development Phase estimate, and the Board will be asked to approve and authorize the team to move forward to the Contract Document Phase. Public comments and questions will be permitted following the presentation.

Sing for Liberia!

Disciples Christian Church in Cleveland Heights presents "Sing for Liberia!", a concert fundraiser whose proceeds will all go to the Agape National Academy of Music in Monrovia, Liberia. Experience an evening of great music and help young musicians begin again after the devastating effects of the Ebola virus.

The church’s award-winning choir, superb soloists and house band will perform. Guest musicians Brian Thornton (Cleveland Orchestra) and Jen Woda (Opera per Tutti) will also join in the festivities.

Featured in the concert will be three out-of-print arrangements of Liberian songs in their original languages by Agnes Nebo von Ballmoos.

Be a part of this unforgettable evening that will make a tangible difference in the lives of real people.

HRRC Workshop: "Tuckpointing"

Tuckpointing (replacing deteriorated or missing mortar between bricks) is an easy do-self repair in most situations. We’ll demonstrate various types of joints, teach you how to match the color and appearance of the surrounding mortar, and show you techniques that will result in a neat and attractive job.
