Opening Reception of "Syncope": works by Rachel Beamer and Achala Wali
6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
On view through June 6, the exhibition "Syncope" pairs new works by regional artists Rachel Beamer and Achala Wali. In medicine, the noun syncope (SINGkuhpee) refers to a fleeting loss of consciousness; in phonetics, it’s when sounds or letters are not pronounced aloud. In Beamer's photographs and Wali's abstract pencil-and-ink drawings, it’s when the compositions hint at elements not present, creating intriguing visual echoes of things felt but unseen. Artist talk + ekphrastic poetry, May 21.

2175 Lee Road, Cleveland Heights, 44118

• How these ratings are derived
• How to best assess and describe school performance
• How school ratings can impact fair housing and community diversity
• What positive steps can we take to address this issue?
