Hike & Run Running Form Clinic

To help runners prepare for this year's 10th Annual Hike & Run, professionals from the Cleveland Running Company will conduct a running form clinic using video and tools to assess and improve running form.

Active Yoga *FREE* Loving Hands Yoga

Active Yoga - This is a moderate-intensity class, perfect for those with previous yoga experience. In this class we gradually increase our heart rate, flow aerobically through various poses, and work on developing strength, flexibility, balance, and stamina. We focus on the yoga principles of alignment, connecting our breath with our movement, and practicing present-moment awareness. The level of challenge is designed around the students' desires and abilities.

Panel Discussion: Inferno – MEMORY

On the eve of 9/11, Alanna Cooper (Director, Director of Jewish Studies, The Laura and Alvin Siegal Lifelong Learning Program at Case Western Reserve University) moderates a discussion about the significance of personal and collective memory, monuments, and memorial in contemporary life and culture. Panelists include Dr. Katia Almeida (Instructor of Anthropology at Case Western Reserve University), Dr. Timothy Beal (author and Florence Harkness Professor of Religion, Case Western Reserve University), Dr. Joy Bostic (Assistant Professor, Department of Religious Studies, Case Western Reserve University), Bruce Checefsky (artist, filmmaker, faculty and Director of the Reinberger Galleries at Cleveland Institute of Art), Dr. Barbara Tannenbaum (Curator of Photography, Cleveland Museum of Art) and Darice Polo (artist, filmmaker and Assistant Professor, Kent State University). $5 general (includes Museum admission)

Gentle Yoga *FREE* Loving Hands Yoga

Gentle Yoga - This class provides all the benefits of yoga, but at a more relaxed pace. It is perfect for beginners, or experienced yogis who prefer a slower practice. We work on our strength, breathing, balance, and flexibility through gentle, fluid poses and stretching. Meditation exercises at the beginning and end of the class help to release stress and worry. We also discuss methods for bringing peace and relaxation into our daily lives. This class provides a peaceful and relaxing way to end the evening!
