Yoga for Lean Bodies *FREE* Loving Hands Yoga

Yoga For Lean Bodies - Vinyasa (flowing) yoga is a powerful component of a healthy lifestyle that aids in creating a leaner body. We move very actively through poses in this class, keeping an elevated heart rate to help burn calories. The body awareness and present-moment awareness that we learn in yoga also help us to be more conscious of what we put into our bodies, and helps us to be gentle and accepting of ourselves along our lean body journey. This is an active level class, perfect for those with previous yoga experience or those who are already fairly physically fit.

Art Deco Walking Tour

Dale Hilton, from the Cleveland Museum of Art, will discuss some of Lake View Cemetery’s finest sculptural works tied to Art Deco, and contrasting it to other art styles, on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. This tour includes a stop in The Lake View Cemetery’s Wade Memorial Chapel.
Lake View Cemetery, founded in 1869, is a treasure chest of discoveries in architecture, geology, sculpture, animal life and horticulture. The Cemetery is filled with names of those who made great contributions to the area’s and nation’s industrial, civic, social, and cultural development. A few examples are John D. Rockefeller, Garrett A. Morgan, Adella Prentiss Hughes, Jane Edna Hunter, Carl B. Stokes, and President James A. Garfield.
Lake View Cemetery offers a diverse year-round schedule of educational and cultural events. There is also a Speaker’s Bureau. With a wide selection of interment space available for the next 100 years, Lake View Cemetery is committed to maintaining the natural beauty and dignity of this historic non-sectarian cemetery.

3rd Annual Doan Brook Take to the Lake

See Lower Shaker Lake from a different perspective! Join the 3rd Annual Take to the Lake and enjoy an afternoon of paddling, picnic, music and fun! Bring your own kayak or sign up for a kayak and introdouctory paddling class for a small fee, led by the Cleveland Metroparks Youth Outdoors.
1 pm - Kids Bird Hike: The Nature Center will teach binocular use and bird identification. $5
2 pm - Community Yoga: Under the trees! Presented by Luna Presence for all ages. $5
2:30-4:30 pm - Live Bluegrass Music: with trio Boy=Girl
3 pm - Doan Brook Gorge Hike: led by Dr. Roy Larick who will highlight the history and geology of the Doan Brook. $5
