Bat Night
7:30 PM - 9:30 PM
Lake View Cemetery, The Nature Center at Shaker Lakes and the Cleveland Metro Parks will present a Bat Program. Tim Krynak from the Cleveland Metro Parks will discuss the various types of bats found in Northeast Ohio, explain their habitat and then we will venture out to search for bats. Lake View Cemetery, a green space in an urban area, is host to a wide variety of animal life. This walk, Friday, August 22, 2014, at 7:30 p.m. will start at the Garfield Monument at Lake View Cemetery. Enter the cemetery at our Mayfield Gate.

Lake View Cemetery, founded in 1869, is a treasure chest of discoveries in architecture, geology, sculpture, animal life and horticulture. The Cemetery’s history and heritage include names of those who made great contributions to the area’s and nation’s industrial, civic, social and cultural development. A few examples are John D. Rockefeller, Garrett A. Morgan, Adella Prentiss Hughes, Jane Edna Hunter, Carl B. Stokes and President James A. Garfield.
Lake View offers a diverse year-round schedule of educational and cultural events. There is also a Speaker’s Bureau covering ten informative topics. With a wide selection of interment space available for the next 100 years, Lake View is committed to maintaining the natural beauty and dignity of this historic non-sectarian cemetery.
