Yoga for Lean Bodies *FREE* Loving Hands Yoga
8:00 AM - 9:00 AM
Yoga For Lean Bodies – Vinyasa (flowing) yoga is a powerful component of a healthy lifestyle that aids in creating a leaner body. We move very actively through poses in this class, keeping an elevated heart rate to help burn calories. The body awareness and present-moment awareness that we learn in yoga also help us to be more conscious of what we put into our bodies, and helps us to be gentle and accepting of ourselves along our lean body journey. This is an active level class, perfect for those with previous yoga experience or those who are already fairly physically fit.

10:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Did you know that science fiction and fantasy writers write and publish sci-fi poetry as well as fiction? Lake Erie Ink's Weekend Ink on November 22 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm will feature local authors, Mary Turzillo and Geoffrey A. Landis, who represent the breadth of science fiction and fantasy writing.

Lake Erie Ink: a writing space for youth is located at 2843 Washington Boulevard in Cleveland Heights. For more information call 216-320-4757 or email clarsen@lakeerieink.org.

Weekend Ink Workshops are for writers of all ages. Admission is $5. Scholarships available.

Mary Turzillo has received many awards for her short fiction and science fiction poetry, including her novella, Mars is No Place for Children, which won the 2000 SFWA Nebula award for best novelette, and her collection of poems, Your Cat and Other Space Aliens, which was nominated for a Pushcart award. Her husband, Geoffrey A. Landis, is a writer and a scientist working at NASA. He was awarded the 2014 Robert A. Heinlein award for outstanding published works in science fiction in recognition of Mr. Landis’ body of work including five books, 83 short stories and 76 poems in the SF field as well as over 353 science fact publications. He has received numerous Hugo and Nebula awards. At NASA he works on Mars missions.

These two writers live and work together in Northeast Ohio and have cheerfully agreed to sacrifice a morning of fencing lessons to share their work and their expertise to inspire young writers at Lake Erie Ink.

This program is supported in part by the residents of Cuyahoga County through a public grant from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture.
