Yoga and Meditation *FREE* Loving Hands Yoga

In this class we focus on the present-moment awareness that comes through a focused yoga practice, and we learn techniques for increasing that focus through meditation. We discuss meditation techniques as we practice our yoga poses, and also learn how to "take our yoga off of our mats" and into the rest of our lives by applying these practices in daily life situations. These techniques help us to stay peaceful, calm, and balanced amid the daily pressures of everyday life. Each class ends with a 10 minute meditation practice. This is a gentle, relaxing class; suitable for beginners as well as experienced yogis.

Cleveland Heights DIY Rain Barrel Workshop

Cleveland Heights and area residents are invited to learn how to use rain barrels to collect and recycle rainwater at a DIY Rain Barrel Workshop to be held on Tuesday, May 22, 6:30-8:00. Workshop participants will learn how to construct a closed, 55 gallon rain barrel system that can be easily attached to any standard residential downspout to collect and conserve rainwater for watering lawns and garden.
A $60 workshop and supply fee includes all rain barrel parts plus Oatey Mystic rain-water diverter for 2” x 3” downspout. Advance registration is required by Tuesday, May 15. Rain barrels are ordered on that date. Workshop size is limited to 30 participants.

Learn how to connect and hang gutters at the proper pitch. We’ll discuss sectional vs. seamless gutters, metal gauges, and how to replace rotted fascia boards and rafter ends.

Both yoga and Reiki provide physical improvement, relaxation, stress relief and mental clarity; so they are natural complements to each other. As we flow through our yoga poses we discuss the principles of these two healing paths, and weave the philosophies into our practice. We focus on balancing our energy on the physical, mental, and emotional levels. We end the class with a Reiki treatment during our Savasana pose. This is an active level class, perfect for those with previous yoga experience or those who are already fairly physically fit. No previous Reiki experience is necessary. Every third class is a slow-flowing Yin Yoga class, which helps to open joints and targets connective tissue. The slow pace allows us to have more intensive Reiki treatments throughout the class. The Yin classes help to balance the Yang energy of the flowing classes.
