Yoga for Lean Bodies *FREE* Loving Hands Yoga
8:00 AM - 9:00 AM
Vinyasa (flowing) yoga is a powerful component of a healthy lifestyle that aids in creating a leaner body. We move very actively through poses in this class, keeping an elevated heart rate to help burn calories. The body awareness and present-moment awareness that we learn in yoga also help us to be more conscious of what we put into our bodies, and helps us to be gentle and accepting of ourselves along our lean body journey. This is an active level class, perfect for those with previous yoga experience or those who are already fairly physically fit.

PAWS-4-A-Cause Adopt-a-thon and Family Fun Day 2012
9:30 AM - 3:00 PM
Last year was a challenging one for man and animal alike. As you can imagine, we had one of the highest numbers ever of abandoned animals enter our system. That's why this year's 8th Annual PAWS-4-A-Cause Adopt-a-Thon and Family Fun Day event at the Cleveland Metroparks Polo Field in Moreland Hills on Saturday, May 12th (from 9:30am to 3:00pm) is so important.

Admission and parking is FREE! And there’s something for everyone, including those with four legs! Bring your own pooch and participate in our dog contests or our 1 or 2 mile walk around the park. Pre-registration is $25 and $30 for day-of the walk. (Pre-registration includes a doggie bag and a t-shirt; t-shirt for day-of-registrants subject to availability). Try your luck in the Big Ticket Raffle for a chance to win fabulous dinner & hotel packages worth more than $1700 each, see some talented canines in action during our demonstrations, sign your dog up for a contest or two, shop at our local pet-related and craft vendor booths, enjoy delicious food and much, much more. In previous years, we’ve had more than 25 rescue groups and over 500 animal lovers attend this event! This year’s hosts will be Cleveland’s own Stefani Schaefer and Dick Goddard from Fox 8, and Bobby Thomas from The Wave 107.3.

You can also set up your own fundraising page and raise money for the animals by having people sponsor you for the event. First, visit http://www.firstgiving.com/PAWS4CAUSE/dogwalk2012 and click on the “Join Now” button. From there, you can either register as a Walker or a Non-Walker for the Dog Walk mentioned above, and create your own customized fundraising page to send to family and friends.

Your help is essential to our mission. PAWS has been making a difference in the community since 1976. We take in the dogs thrown out on the streets…abandoned kittens left in boxes to starve…and dehydrated dogs found in foreclosed homes. We’ve removed chains embedded in a dog's neck… removed eyes from a cat when destroyed by infection…treated parvo and heartworm. As a non-profit rescue organization, we rely on countless volunteers…along with sponsorship dollars from you. Our dollars go to the animals, so the more we have, the more effective we can be at saving the abandoned, stray and injured animals in Greater Cleveland. We found permanent homes for 400 pets in 2011….30 of them were from the 2011 PAWS-4-A-Cause event.

HEIGHTS YOUTH THEATRE presents CHICAGO directed by Nathan Motta
7:00 PM
May 11, 12, 17, 18 & 19, 7:00 PM
Tickets $10 General Admission- cash or checks only

Kander and Ebb's CHICAGO was originally conceived as a "musical vaudeville" where the story of the murderesses of the Cook County jail were told through the vehicle of a vaudeville show. This Heights Youth Theatre production abandon's Bob Fosse's notion of sexualization and black lingerie, and doesn't use the 2002 Oscar winning film's dark realism approach, and instead stays true to the original "musical vaudeville" concept of Kander and Ebbs setting the action squarely in the roaring 1920s on the stage of an upscale Chicago speakeasy. A show within a show, a stage within a stage, this exciting production of Chicago will be appropriate for a PG audience (there are a couple of four-letter words). Kander and Ebb's most famous score gives us Broadway jazz standards such as All That Jazz, Razzle Dazzle, Mr. Cellophane, and the Cell Block Tango.

Join us for a Chicago like you've never seen before!

GOD OF CARNAGE at Dobama
8:00 PM - 9:30 PM
GOD OF CARNAGE is the story of two seemingly courteous and civilized couples who meet after their boys’ fistfight in a neighborhood schoolyard. Michael and Veronica, whose son’s teeth were knocked out with a stick, invite Alan and Annette, whose son did the knocking, to their home to settle the matter. Civility crumbles. Grownups behave badly as these parents argue about who influenced their sons’ misbehavior. Carnage erupts with finger-pointing, name-calling, stomping and carrying on. And then they break out the liquor.
