Free to NEW Students: Prenatal Yoga

FREE TO NEW STUDENTS. (Those who have never to been to Atma Center before, or have not attended class for 6 months or longer)

Pregnancy is a time to honor yourself. Learn asanas (physical postures) to release discomfort of the pelvis, hips and lower back. Breathing, relaxation and meditation practices are taught to help with the process of labor and delivery, as well as parenting.


Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early. Class size is limited and latecomers may not be admitted.

Yoga for Menopause with Deb Smith

If you are menopausal, peri-menopausal, or just interested in managing this future transition, you can experience tremendous benefits from yoga. Yoga helps you maintain a healthy body, and manage the physical and emotional changes happening during this phase of your life.

Women in all life stages are welcome but practices are not appropriate for pregnant women. This workshop includes poses, breathing and relaxation practices, so please dress comfortably.

Share, practice, learn, and redefine aging.

$25 if paid by April 24. $30 thereafter.

Deb Smith is an Accredited Level Two SATYANANDA YOGA® Teacher and massotherapist. She spent 20 years working as a clinical anesthetist. Yoga has proved invaluable to her in managing her own aging process, as well as helping her to cope with the challenges of parenting her two wonderful daughters.

FREE TO NEW STUDENTS (Those who have never to been to Atma Center before, or have not attended class for 6 months or longer)

Improve your flexibility, strength, and stamina and learn basic breathing and stress relief techniques. Explore the unique Pawanmuktasana series, which increase flexibility, core strength, and dynamic energy. The practices in Foundation A can help relieve and prevent degenerative diseases and conditions like arthritis, high blood pressure and back problems. A key part of this level is developing physical and mental awareness in ways which can be used on and off the yoga mat.

Suitable for all regardless of fitness level, health conditions or age: great for beginners and experienced practitioners who wish to improve their technique; Safe for pregnant women and people with injuries or restrictions. Teachers will provide modifications for your unique needs in this non-competitive environment.

Tri-C JazzFest to close 33rd edition with performances at Nighttown

The 33rd edition of the Tri-C JazzFest will close out its official 10-day run with two sets at NightTown on Sunday, April 29, featuring TCJF Soundworks, Tri-C JazzFest’s resident ensemble. Performance times are 7 and 9 p.m. For tickets ($15), call NightTown at 216-795-0550.

The Soundworks band includes Chris Anderson, trombone; Chris Baker, drums; Glenn Holmes, bass; Sean Jones, trumpet; John Kalyman, tenor sax; Howie Smith, alto sax; and Chip Stephens, piano.

Tri-C JazzFest kicked off on April 19 at Tower City. Over the course of the JazzFest, jazz lovers can feast on a variety of music, including The Jack DeJohnette Group (April 26), the David Sanborn Trio and Trombone Shorty (April 27), and Diana Krall (April 28).
