Community Home Remodeling Fair
12:00 AM - 2:15 PM
This free event provides an opportunity for homeowners to hear from contractors, product suppliers, architects, and other experns willing to share their knowledge. Attendees can go to workshops, ask questions at “advice tables,” and even meet with an architect for a free 30-minute consultation to help prepare for a remodeling project. (To schedule, call 381-6100 starting 3/1/10.)
The Fair will include presentations on such topics as kitchen and bathroom remodeling, roof replacement, basement waterproofing, new windows, garage replacement, new heating systems, and other “big ticket” projects where it is particularly important to make good decisions on selecting the right products and choosing who to hire for the work. There will also be presentations focusing on conserving resources (retrofitting old houses for energy savings and how to install a rain barrel), but all speakers are being asked to incorporate sustainability and “green” remodeling into their presentations, as appropriate.
Representatives from the City of Cleveland Heights, Cuyahoga County, and other organizations will be available to advise homeowners on such things as researching the history of their house, checking whether any liens are filed against it, verifying property taxes, understanding building code issues, and arranging financing for a home repair project. Attendees can also check out the handouts, books, videos, and contractor evaluations available through HRRC’s Resource library.
The Fair is open to residents of all communities

Tetelestai
8:00 PM
Tetelestai — a contemporary musical portrayal of the trial, execution and Resurrection of Jesus the Messiah — is returning to the Heights area after a 15-year absence.
Gesu Parish in University Heights will host Tetelestai on March 19 at 8 p.m., March 20 at 8 p.m., and March 21 at 3 p.m. in Gesu Church at 2470 Miramar Boulevard.
A volunteer cast and crew of approximately 120 persons gives 27 “prayerformances” throughout the Lenten season. It has been doing so for the last 34 years. This is more than a mere response to the Christian rock phenomenon. It promises to make Lenten observances that much more memorable.
Admission is free, and seating is open. Donations are welcome. To volunteer to help with publicity, hospitality, or greeters, contact Carole Kealy at 216-838-7290 or John Power 216-291-5116.
