CAIN PARK ARTS FESTIVAL
The annual Cain Park Arts Festival, among the best in the country, will take place Friday, July 11 (3:00-8:00 pm), Saturday, July 12 (10:00 am- 8:00 pm), and Sunday, July 13 (12:00 noon-5:00 pm) in beautiful Cain Park, located at Lee and Superior roads in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
The Cain Park Arts Festival is a juried fine arts and fine crafts event, featuring the work of 150 artists. You'll find paintings, watercolors, photography, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, wood, leather, glass and more. For those who love to browse through sophisticated fine art while strolling down a wooded path, there's no better way to spend a summer weekend than at the Cain Park Arts Festival.
In addition to a wide variety of entertainment offered all three days in the Evans Amphitheater, special children's concerts are also scheduled in the intimate Alma Theater. Gourmet restaurants and caterers offer food concessions throughout the weekend in the covered picnic areas surrounding the Evans Amphitheater.
You may park on nearby streets or ride the trolley to the Arts Festival. The City of Cleveland Heights provides Arts Festival visitors with a free parking shuttle service via Lolly the Trolley. Park at Cleveland Heights City Hall, 40 Severance Circle; the trolley will drop you off at the Lee Road entrance. The Arts Festival Parking Shuttle runs Saturday, July 12 (10:00 am-11:00 pm) and Sunday, July 13 (12:00 noon to 5:00 pm).
Friday's admission to the Cain Park Arts Festival is free; on Saturday and Sunday, admission is $2 per person for those 13 and over; 12 and under are free.

Three Novelists To Read at Mac's Backs
Novelists Sean Carswell, Mickey Hess, and Wred Fright will read from their works at Mac's Backs ~ Books On Coventry.
The event is free and open to the public.
Co-founder of the punk zine Razorcake, Carswell rolls into town on an eighteen city cross-country reading tour to promote his latest novel Train Wreck Girl (Manic D Press, 2008).
Editor of Icons of Hip Hop: An Encyclopedia of the Movement, Music, and Culture, Hess joins Carswell for part of the tour to promote the republication of his memoir/novel Big Wheel at the Cracker Factory (Garrett County Press, forthcoming in 2008).
From Lakewood, Fright braves crosstown traffic as their special guest to promote his novel about a garage band, The Pornographic Flabbergasted Emus (ULA Press, 2006).
