Great Lakes Theater Festival presents SEEING RED-- A FREE Outreach Touring Production
See what led Arthur Miller to write THE CRUCIBLE.
A new play featuring actual HUAC testimony.

Featuring: Elizabeth R. Wood as Hallie Flanagan, Justin Tatum as Ronald Reagan, Joseph Primes as Paul Robeson and David Hansen as Arthur Miller

For over thirty years, the United States government called upon American citizens to testify before the House Committee on Un-American Activities, where naming names of purported communists was as commonplace as it was ruinous. Seeing Red dramatizes the actual testimony of four key witnesses, concluding with Arthur Miller, whose momentous play "The Crucible" serves as an allegory for these congressional hearings. What happens when the
government oversteps the bounds of its power and infringes upon the rights of citizens? How do individuals respond under persecution? What parallels exist in today's political environment?

Seeing Red is designed for audiences of all backgrounds.
Recommended for ages junior high and up.
This Surround event is free and open to the public at all non-school venues.
